Conceptual equipment illustration.
A pallet dispenser machine separates empty pallets from a stack and supplies them one at a time. Choose the release mechanism from the actual pallet geometry and stack condition. “Standard pallet” is not enough when the equipment must handle wear, mixed constructions or pallets that nest tightly together.
For warehouse and intralogistics automation, the dispenser starts a controlled handover from the stack to the receiving equipment.
Review the Incoming Stack
Industrial Kinetics describes dispensers and collectors with different mechanisms for pallet styles, stack heights and integration requirements. The dispensing and stacking operations are separate functions even when one equipment family can provide both.
Prepare a trial stack representative of the intended supply. Include acceptable worn pallets and the geometry extremes the line must handle. Inspect where the release mechanism supports the stack and where it acts on the bottom pallet.
A warped deck, damaged runner or tightly nested pair can change the release. Define which incoming pallet conditions are accepted by the line so that the test has a clear boundary.
Confirm a Single Pallet Reaches the Transfer
The sequence needs to establish stack support, one-pallet separation and a clear receiving position. A cylinder reaching its end position does not necessarily prove that a pallet was released correctly.
Check these states during the trial:
| State | Required distinction |
|---|---|
| Magazine empty | Report no pallet available and wait for replenishment |
| Two pallets remain engaged | A separation failure, not permission to transfer |
| Released pallet skewed | Position needs correction or recovery |
| Downstream conveyor occupied | Hold the next release |
| Stack refill complete | Confirm the magazine is ready before restarting |
The pallet-conveyor guide explains the support and transfer geometry after release. Its rollers or chains must engage the pallet that the dispenser actually delivers.
Keep Recovery Out of the Normal Cycle
Agree how operators can identify and clear a hung pallet after the equipment reaches its controlled recovery state. The controls should distinguish a recovered pallet from a new automatic dispense so that upstream counts and downstream reservations remain correct.
Record the dispenser’s interface with the palletizing system: request, pallet available, transfer complete and fault. If the downstream station changes pallet type, coordinate its recipe with the dispenser’s physical setting.
The broader conveyor and material-handling scope should include stack replenishment access and the rest of the empty-pallet route.
